When you reach the finale of Trial of the Sekhemas, you’ll face a pinnacle boss, Zarohk, the Temporal. He’s a very difficult boss who plays with time and fires missiles at you, and you have to know where to stand and where to attack in order to avoid his attacks.
Where Is Zarohk, The Temporal?
It’s not easy to cause trouble for Zarohk, the Temporal, Lord of Time, who guards the final level of Trial of the Sekhemas. You have to fight four levels of the trial and three other bosses to find him.
You’ll want to bring some boons that increase your damage output, honor resistance, and speed. Hare’s Foot is a good choice, as this boon will increase your movement speed by 40%, which will help you run fast around the boss area and allow you to weave in and out of Zarohk, the Temporal’s missiles.
Then use the remaining boons to increase your damage to the boss and add some defensive abilities.
How To Defeat Zarohk, The Temporal?
Zarohk, the Temporal is too powerful to fight head-on, so let’s take a look at his resistances and weaknesses:
Resistances:
- Light Fire Resistance
- Light Cold Resistance
- Light Lightning Resistance
Weaknesses: No weaknesses
Too bad! Not only is Zarohk, the Temporal resistant to all three elements, he has no weaknesses! Zarohk, the Temporal even has a whopping 17 million health points, making him one of the most powerful bosses in the endgame.
The good news is that he has no physical resistance or chaos resistance, which you can use if you want to deal him. If you want to deal elemental damage to him, you’ll probably have to break his elemental resistance first. You can buy POE 2 Currency to get some affixes to your gear, or you can change your skill gems. Either way, defeating Zarohk will pay off nicely.
Zarohk, the Temporal is a mean boss. He rarely says a few lines before attacking to remind you what he is going to do. So you have to judge the timing yourself.
However, there are a few attacks where he says lines before attacking:
- You are not in control: He will create a bubble. If you are covered in it, you can only move in slow motion.
- The hour grows late: He will flash in the middle of the field and then discharge electricity in all directions. You can hide in the corner with this move.
- The sands of time wait for no one: He will disappear and a light pointer will appear in the middle of the field. Six light balls will appear on the field. You must step on the pointer and follow the pointer through the six light balls within 15 seconds. If you fail, sorry, you are out.
Zarohk, the Temporal’s moves change as his health decreases:
- 66%: sands of time challenge
- 50%: hurling pylons
- 40%: slowing bubbles
- 33%: sands of time challenge again
Zarohk doesn’t actually do much damage to you, but the trouble is that every attack he makes reduces your honor. In a way, honor is your real health. Zarohk’s attacks can be very intense, so you should be defensive and dodge Zarohk’s missiles first. When you have a chance to make damage, use all your damage.
Zarohk has an energy shield, which you can use to wear down his shield with continuous damage skills. When Zarohk is at 1/3 of his health, he will release many missiles. If you are patient enough to dodge, you should have a lot of honor left.
